We strive to provide the most beneficial learning environment by including the best aspect of Montessori and traditional methods of education. There are many facets to our enrichment programs that combine to make IVY KIDS the premier educational day care center in the Houston area, and here are just a few.
- Our computer literacy program is available for children two years of age and older and is taught in our state-of-the-art technology room
- We have a large, interactive library with an experienced librarian, not just someone who brings books to each room on a cart. The library is available for children ages two and up. Our children love our dedicated 'story time' in the library as well.
- All children ages two and up have access to Spanish instruction. We employ a dedicated Spanish instructor so the information and education passed on is of the utmost quality.
- Our children learn in a 'hands-on' manner, especially with our Science Laboratory. Again, this is a dedicated room with a dedicated instructor so children receive the highest quality experience - and the most fun.
- We provide access to important extra curricular activities such as music, dance, tumbling and martial arts training. With a wide variety of dance options including, ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, jazzXercize, one will be ideal for your child.
- We have our own chef and commercial kitchen so our healthy meals and nutritious snacks are made from scratch and served fresh from the oven.
- IVY KIDS is very involved in the community and fosters the spirit of volunteerism in our children with many fundraising events.
IVY KIDS is not just about watching over children while parents are working. The educational development of our students is the highest priority and the entire center was built around this goal.
- We have carefully designed our curriculum to help our children develop all seven types of intelligence: linguistic, logical-mathematical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, musical, interpersonal, and intrapersonal.
- Our curriculum also takes advantage of the essential window of opportunity in early childhood development (the first seven years of a child's life) when each sensory experience--what a child sees, hears, touches, tastes, and smells--creates connections (synapses) between brain cells. - All our programs have very low ratios of children to instructors.
- All instructors are certified as Child Development Associates.
- Our infant program alone has a collective 80 plus years of teaching/instructing experience.
- Because we are not a franchise, we are able to attract and retain the most qualified and caring instructors by offering a higher salary.
- We invite in experts from Early Childhood Development four times a year to perform assessments on our children.
- IVY KIDS offers total and open access to your child's experience here. With video cameras in every room, parents can watch their children online and even call the teacher to discuss what is happening at that very moment.
- For the maximum level of fire safety, each classroom door leads to the outside, and each room is equipped with fire sprinklers (this is more than the government mandated requirements).
- Our playground areas are segmented and gated by age group so your children will always be playing with others his or her own age.
The IVY KIDS Early Learning Center, Houston's premier educational child care facility, was designed and is still managed by husband and wife team Al and Laila Bandali. Years ago, when they searched but were unable to find the ideal child care center for their young children, they knew they had to take action. If they were unsatisfied by what the market offered, other parents surely were as well.
Al and Laila began their long but satisfying quest to create an educational child care center that would be the absolute best in class. They spent years researching the early developmental process, interviewing specialists, and drawing upon their own long history in social services.
