IVY KIDS Announces Important Changes
in Seatbelt Policy and Procedures
Seatbelts: HB537 requires all occupants of a vehicle, no matter their age, to be
secured by a safety belt.
5B61: This bill requires that any child
younger than 8-years-old be restrained in an approved child
passenger safety seat unless the child is at least 4’9 in height.
Ivy Kids is required by the state to have all our children in an approved
safety seat when being transported in our vehicles. Parents will be receiving
notices with more information.

Beginning this month, IVY KIDS parents will have at their fingertips the latest
product recall information as announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

IVY KIDS Fall Picture Day is all about your kids' smiles. They grow-up
so fast. Just like those baby pictures, that are so irreplaceable, school

for the children in that particular month. If you would like to do something

Important Reminder -- Please Return Your Admission Sheet Form!
On June 22, Ivy Kids sent home letters and forms (Admission Information
Sheet/Form 2935) in each classroom. Please return these forms to the front
desk. Also parents, please update your child's allergy list for our chef.
We would also appreciate a doctor's statement or written notice from parents.

Summertime Fun For School Age Children

We will be doing everything from turning the activity room into our version
of the Louvre Museum, to putting on a theatre production! And coming in

Little Chefs will learn about food that's good for you

So Much To Choose From For Summertime Fun
At IVY KIDS!
Let's see, there's all the
IVY KIDS
summer camp choices for kids with cool summer themes like "Water"
or "Little Chefs".
School Age IVY KIDS are invited to join us in the library on Fridays to
participate in the
Shooting Star Reading Club
(sign-up list is posted on the Activity Room door).
Attend
Spanish class, where IVY KIDS will "adventure"
deeper into the language. And of course, summer will not be complete without
a list of fun
field trips that include Pre-K and School
Age kids (Field trip calendars are available in the lobby).

IVY KIDS Get Up Close And Personal
With Plants
On Earth Day
There's nothing like getting ones hands dirty when it comes to gardening and
IVY KIDS did just that. There were many smiling and eager faces in attendance
to help plant flowers and herbs in the IVY KIDS garden.

IVY KIDS To Conduct Health Checks Each
Morning
Starting Monday, May 4, IVY KIDS will be conducting health checks each
morning as your child enters their classroom. One teacher per classroom
will be conducting health checks along with administrative personnel.
We are being asked by TDPRSCP to keep these health records on all children
and their families for the next three months. Additional information
regarding the health checks is available at the front desk.

IVY KIDS Summer Camp Themes Offer Adventure
And Excitement
Your Pre-K and School Age children have a wonderful array of summer
camp themed programs to get excited about. With our High Reach "Passports"
curriculum, your child will engage in creative and challenging activities
that promote learning, imagination and curiosity.
Pre-K offerings include Water an eco friendly water-themed
voyage, Looking At The World, a world-view discovery tour and
Sound & Rhythm, a joyful music appreciation theme combining
dance, poetry and song to exercise our senses. School Age Summer Camp
themes include Splashing Out, The Grown Up Me,
I Am An Artiste, Ivy Theater and Little Chefs.
There will also be an extensive Spanish Class and an intensive Reading
Program.

IVY KIDS Announces the Jamba Juice Bananananza Fundraiser
Parents, children and extended families: it's time to quench your thirst at Jamba Juice. The week of April 20 (April 20 - 26) is the IVY KIDS Bananananza Fundraiser. Head to the Jamba Juice located at 2810 Business Center Drive, Ste 138, Pearland, TX 77584 with the attached flyer and 20% of your
purchase will benefit the IVY KIDS Early Learning Center.
The more your drink the more IVY KIDS earns. Don't forget to bring the flyer ... and pass one along to a friend, too.

Outdoor Classroom Beautification Project
The classrooms will be participating in the planting and caring of this environment.
The designated beautifcation area will also have benches, pavers, and plants.
It will even offer an organic garden that will grow a variety of plants. The children
will be able to bring some of the grown vegetables and herbs back into the kitchen for our
cook to use in their daily meals.
We are looking forward to starting our garden on Earth Day, April 2 -- please
see your child’s classroom for details the week of April 13.

Sports Adventures Program Coming to IVY
KIDS
The Gym Station will soon be coming to IVY KIDS. Of interest to IVY
KIDS parents is a program The Gym Station offers called Sports Adventures.
The program utilizes a variety off sports mediums to assist children
in discovering the champion within themselves. Fun sports activities
introduced throughout the year include football, basketball, baseball,
soccer, and tennis. In particular, the fundamentals of throwing, catching,

Bach ECI
Bach ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) will be here Thursday, January
8 at 9 a.m. to provide developmental screenings. If you would like to
have your child screened, we will have consent forms available. Bach
ECI provides services for children under 3 years, free of charge.

IVY KIDS Early Learning Center Scholarship
Winners
Mrs. Levarn Shorts and Ms. Denise Armelin will receive a full paid scholarship
through IVY KIDS to obtain their CDA (Child Development Associate Credential).
This credential is given through the Child Care Council in Washington
D.C. They will attend Brazosport College to receive their credential.

IVY KIDS First Annual Christmas Program
Our first annual Christmas Program will be held on Friday, December
19 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event will take place at Nolan Ryan
Junior High, which is located at 11500 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland,
TX 77584. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s
performance, please speak with your child’s teacher.

Butler Children

IVY KIDS Resumes Normal Operations this
Monday
With power restored to our Pearland facility, IVY KIDS will resume full
operations effective Monday, September 22, with normal hours of 6:00
a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

IVY KIDS Re-Opens this Friday following
Hurricane Ike
With power restored to our Pearland facility, IVY KIDS will RE-OPEN
on Friday, September 19, from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. To help out on our
first day, parents are asked bring sack lunches and snacks for their
children. We plan to resume normal hours as soon as possible.
The IVY KIDS facility at Pearland held up very well during Hurricane
Ike. We feel very fortunate for this. The building and surrounding property
did sustain minor leaks and some fence damage ... all of which have
been repaired. We hope that all our families and staff are safe and
made it through this disaster without any major problems. Families should

Director, Angela Casillas! She will formally introduce herself at our
Parent Orientation Sessions this month, so please be sure to attend.
